NEW YORK, NY, December 8, 2011 -- Kneeland Construction Company has been selected for the 2011 Best of Medford Award in the Miscellaneous Builders & Contractors category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA).
The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2011 USCA Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.

Sorry it has taken me so long to write about the renovations you did on my house on the Cape.
I had dreamed about having the renovation done for about six years, but the two builders and architects that preceded you couldn't get the drawings to work out.
I knew you were the man for the job the minute I met you. You listened to what I said that I wanted, and then you told me what I could and could not do.
Not only did I like you, but I trusted you, and a few weeks later, when you came down with the contract and wanted a deposit, I had no qualms about handing you cash.
In the end everything I believed about you turned out to be right. You did everything you said you would do on the co's, and the orders you came up with couldn't have been better. The deck, the Azek trim, the extra support in the basement, and the paint job were all first class. When it was all done, it was everything I wanted and more, and you kept within my budget. It is beautiful, and we all love it.
I can't say enough about your entire company; you, as the engineer, Jack Kenny who watched over the construction, and yes, Sue, who answered the phone and always pleasant, handling every message and request.
As far as Jack Kenny goes, what a great guy he is. It was as if he started out as a builder, and when he was finished, we became good friends.
When I left the Cape in October, I left both of your signs up in the yard. I can't promote your company enough.
I have many pictures of the finished product. If you want them, I'll be happy to email them to you.
Also, you are welcome to use or show my house any time if it will help you make a sale.
Thanks for everything, Carl. You made my year!
Peter V.
Please pass along my appreciation for all they have done and continue to do. I am so looking forward to the finished product.
In particular, we wanted to say that we very much appreciate your diligence, workmanship, and professionalism in getting the job done on time, within budget, and exactly according to specifications. We also appreciate the extra care and attention you spent helping us plan the addition and patience with which you dealt with the several change orders we initiated during the course of the construction.
Everyone at Kneeland with whom we came in contact was excellent and we always felt that we were receiving the highest level of customer service and attention. While everyone was great, we would also like to specifically mention Troy's performance as foreman. His contentiousness and commitment to keeping our home safe and clean during the construction was quite impressive and most appreciated.
Also impressive, Jack and Carl, is how the two of you have been so responsive over the last year and half to our calls and requests for minor adjustments and follow-up items. Most especially, we thank you both for your efforts earlier today in getting our central air conditioning working and for responding so quickly in immediately resolving the problem of the blown fuse.
I have to admit, everyone I spoke with said to go with Owens-Corning so we met with them. Their products looked cheap and were made of plastic. We had been so thrilled with the last job you did for us that it seemed only natural to call you for a quote. Your quote was fair (and didn't change during the job) and the materials you used were top notch. You made us a room that will survive if we have an unexpected flood and looks elegant. The wainscoting is so beautiful, I'm glad you suggested it.
Also, once again, everyone who came to our home was professional, proficient and kind, starting with the Project Manager, John Leeco. This is the second time we have had the pleasure of working with John and he again made the whole experience perfect: pleasant and without incident. He answered every call and always kept us informed; we never felt like we didn't know what was happening next. George, the foreman, was awesome. He was not only extremely conscientious but also just a nice person. All of the sub-contractors who handled the electrical, flooring and plaster were great as well; a reflection of your high standards.
I will continue to recommend Kneeland Construction to my friends and neighbors; I am doing them a favor letting them know about you and your wonderful company. Once again you took a project that could have been stressful and disappointing and turned it into a wonderful, positive event that has only improved the value of my home. Now can you tell me how to get my kids out of the new family room so I can use it?????
Thanks, again. I assure you if we ever decide to do any future home improvements (a new kitchen in about two years??) we will call you and only you! Have a great spring and summer and, once again, please feel free to give our name out as references for your terrific company.
When deciding to add a second floor to our home we were concerned about many aspects not the least of which the contractor to choose. With so many negative reports of contractor issues in the news I was concerned about the project cost, timelines and quality. We are very happy with the job you and the team have done to give us a wonderful new home. Specifically:
- Cost. You gave us a competitive bid and kept within that cost for the project with minimal change orders.
- Timeline. You set proper expectations up front and beat the anticipated timeline even with a few change orders.
- Quality. You provided more than we expected. The structure is sound, the work site was orderly throughout the project and the follow up was excellent to be sure we were happy and our concerns addressed.
If you ever need a recommendation do not hesitate to call on us.
I wish you all the best and luck in your business in the years to come.
As you know, demolition started December 27th and finished mid-February - ahead of schedule. I was expecting the worst, since it was the middle of winter. The house was sealed up tight from the winter weather and the project moved right along.
John, the crew, Mike, Santo and Elisio were professional and a pleasure to deal with. We recommend Kneeland to anyone considering a home project and would use your company again.
In particular, we wanted to say that we very much appreciate your diligence, workmanship, and professionalism in getting the job done on time, within budget and exactly according to specifications.
Ps. The workers that came every day were very honest and friendly. Thank you Kneeland.
